Measurement and revision of antistatic floors and walls

We carry out the measurement of insulation resistance of floors and walls with the issuing of a report and a report from the equipment inspection.

Anti-static and conductive floors are special floors that have a special electrical conductivity and are suitable for areas where electrostatic discharges must be prevented. These materials can be used where there is a need for conductive or antistatic flooring. Antistatic flooring cannot generate electrostatic voltages on a person moving on it even without the use of conductive or antistatic footwear. These floors must reduce electrostatic voltages regardless of the relative humidity in the room or production hall.

Merations of antistatic floors are mainly required in medical facilities, paint shop areas and fine electronics construction workplaces where antistatic flooring must be installed. We have high quality measuring instruments and a probe designed to measure the insulation resistance of floors, walls and special levelling surfaces.

  • Electrostatic floors

Values for the classification of floors according to EN 34 1382:

ESD Floor

Electrically conductive material (up to 50kΩ)

This material is not capable of accumulating electrostatic charge in large quantities if it is bonded to the earth. Its intrinsic resistivity is equal to or less than 10Ωm. 

Electrostatically conductive material (from 50 kΩ to 1MΩ)

This material has the ability to dissipate the electrostatic charge generated by traffic on its surface as long as it is connected to the ground. Its internal resistivity is 10< 10Ωm. 

Antistatic material ( from 50 kΩ to 100MΩ)

This material is not capable of accumulating electrostatic charge in large quantities if it is bonded to the earth. Its internal resistivity is 10< 10Ωm. 

Non-conductive material ( above 1000MΩ)

A characteristic of this material is its internal resistivity measured at ambient temperature and 50% relative humidity, which is greater than 10Ωm.

The non-conductive surroundings shall not be less than:

  • 50 kΩ, rated U of installation does not exceed 500V
  • 100 kΩ, rated U of installation exceeds 500V (1kVAC and 1.5kVDC)
